Skeptic
Receives A Fresh Start
Upon my arrival to the Aloha Aina
Wellness Center, I was filled with apprehension and the fear of no knowing what
to expect. Simply put, if you can use the words “skeptic” and “homophobic” in
one sentence, it described Me perfectly, until I was introduced to Mary Dressler.
Immediately Mary took me in like a bird under her wing and within a few moments
I felt at ease and more relaxed. Sitting through the orientation practically had
“drummed up” in my head prior to my arrival.
I have had the blessing of being
able to see the effects that this cleanse has had upon someone first hand in my
father. I have lived with the symptoms of almost chronic Gout for almost 10
years, miserably. Trust me when I say that when I contract these symptoms I
would rather cut off my limbs than deal with that type of pain. There is nothing
that you can do: elevate your foot; it still hurts, put it down, put it
sideways, put it where-ever, guess what? It still hurts, incredibly! I would
not wish this disease of anyone! The only thing that you can do is surrender to
the false hope that the medication that you end up taking like candy will
sometime soon end your misery.
Since my fathers cleanse with Mary, he has not
had one gout attack yet, and that is what I look forward to, there is a light, a
bright light, at the end of my tunnel now, thanks to Mary!
Within the last 12
years of my life I have put on almost 130 lbs. I know I didn’t wake up like Rumplestiltskin a decade later saying “Holy shit I’m 343 pounds!” I’ve seen it,
dealt with it, I’ve worked with it. I knew it was there. But I chose to be blind
to it. The truth is I settled. I settled for what I’ve become, overweight and on
the verge of contracting something life threatening like diabetes, high blood
pressure, and cholesterol, and who knows what else these diseases would open the
doors for.
But here I am, making a stand, in the hopes that I can shed some
weight and get healthy while I’m still young enough and well enough to do so
before it consumes me. Recently, I have come to the conclusion that I’m tired of
being this big and that, along with my health is the reason that God has brought
me to Mary Dressler.
In one of the motivational CD’s
that Mary played I heard something to the effect that the sky is always blue,
when it’s raining or cloudy, to say that it’s grey or black is wrong. It’s
always blue. At the moment it’s just covered up. This is to the effect of how I
felt, covered up. Since my first day of the ten day cleanse, I have lost 22
pounds, I wake up earlier, I find myself whizzing through my day with a new
found energy, I have developed a more positive attitude, a clearer outlook and a
sense of direction and purpose. I thank you Mary for giving me a fresh start and
helping me to get right with my body and health and helping me to clear out the
clouds.
